The necessity and urgency of establishing the Equipment Anticorrosion and Thermal-insulation and the Pipeline Management Information System were probed on by comparing the development and status of MIS (Management Information System) of the petrochemical corporation at present. The structure of Database was analyzed and the general functions that the system must possess were designed according to the management norm of QiLu Petrol Chemical Crop.The system realized the information processing on the basis of the Client/Serve(C/S) frame using the Microsoft s MS SQL Server 6.5 as database management system at the serve end and the Sybase's Powerbuilder 6.0 as development tool at client end. The system was divided into two sub-system (Equipment Anticorrosion and Thermal-insulation System and Pipeline Management System) and achieved the data processing function of importing, modifying, query, printing around anticorrosion information processing of equipment and pipeline. Equipment Anticorrosion and Thermal-insulation System included equipment anticorrosion card, equipment thickness inspecting records, equipment thermal insulation records, etc. Pipeline Management System included pipeline card, pipeline-detecting records, pipeline repairing records, pipeline thickness-inspecting records, pipeline planing, etc.The data structure was optimized by the standard theory of the relateddatabase and the application's frame and interface were designed in accordance with the Windows Interface. Two ways were realized to access the system, the catalogue navigation accessing and the equipment flow chart accessing. The relationship between the data and flow chart was established dynamically and the system combined graph handling with database management tightly. The system emphasized on the collection and management of corrosion information and was suitable to people that was desirous to analyze and summarize the corrosion management.
