Auto-Loader System Development For Palomar8000 Bonder Machine

Golden Ball Bonding (GBB) process is an important process for Head Gimbal Assembly (HGA) production. As an important work device for GBB process, Palomar8000 bonder machine doesn't have auto-fixture for loading and unloading. HGA is very sensitive for Electro Static Discharge (ESD). However, the manual fixture is not well in decreasing ESD for human factors, and the workload for operators is hard. This is the main reason that the HGA quality. It is very significant to develop an auto-loader system for Palomar8000 bonder machine.In order to decrease ESD and based on the requirement of safety in production, the auto-fixture is designed. By comparing the different controllers, we confirm the auto-loader system based on Industry PC-PLC control method. Through further research, we design the hardware and software; build up the auto-loader system for Palomar8000 bonder machine.Through the production experiments, this system decreases the number of defect caused by ESD and greatly decreases the workload for operators. The auto-loader system of Palomar8000 realizes the automatic assembly for the GBB process.
