With the improvement of people's living and the accelerated rhythm of life, people's request to theclothing is more and more high. Fit, comfort, softness and flexibility have become the goal of the newfabric. Therefore, spandex elastic fabrics become one of the new favorites, and spandex wrapped yarnsalso become one hot of the new product developments of textile fabrics.Spandex wrapped yarn is one kind of spandex elastic yarn. The composite yarn's core is spandex,and out is synthetic fiber filaments or staple yarn which covers the elongate spandex filament by thehelical way. Given the known literature on spandex wrapped yarn studies have focused on polyester/Spandex wrapped yarn, Nylon/Spandex wrapped yarn, cotton/spandex wrapped yarn, etc., and studieson yarn of viscose filament covered spandex are a blank in our country. Therefore, by trial spinning theviscose/spandex wrapped yarn, the spinning theory, technology, yarn structure and properties will bestudied and analyzed in this article.Features of viscose and spandex, spinning theory of viscose/spandex wrapped yarn were outlined inthis article. On the condition of two kind of viscose filament fineness and spandex fineness was certain,we chose parameters, such as coverage, drafting multiple and branch of spandex, wrapping technology,etc. as the factors, and selected three levels for each factor(must use virtual level for wrapping technologyonly had two levels). Then we chose the L9(34)orthogonal table, and did orthogonal experiment design.Nine kinds of viscose/spandex wrapped yarns were spun for each viscose filament; yarns mechanicalperformances and boiling water shrinkage performance were tested. The experimental results wereanalyzed by visual analysis and variance analysis, the influence of spinning technological parameters toyarn performances was researched. Finally, by the multi-goal pessimistic situation decision, variousfactors and levels were optimized, the best spinning technology was obtained, and viscose/spandexwrapped yarn achieved the optimal performances and the best quality.
