The effect of the ratio of rubber/plastics, the curing systems, the reinforcingsystems, the softening systems and the process parameters on the properties ofpowderd styrene-butadiene rubber (PSBR)/Polyethylene(PE) thermoplasticelastomer prepared by dynamic vulcanization were discussed, such as mechanicalproperties and aging-resistant property. At the same time, the microstructurecharacteristics of the thermoplastic elsatomer were analyzed, the connection betweenstructure and properties of TPO was studied. The better properties of the PSBR/PEblending thermoplastic elastomer were prepared.At first, the paper discussed the rubber/plastics ratio of PSBR/PE blendingthermoplastic elastomer. The results showed that the properties of blends were betterin the 60/40 ratio of PSBR/PE. And in order to improve the process fluidity,HDPE2911, which had a large MI, was used with m-LLDPE together in the 50/50 ofHDPE2911/m-LLDPE. The properties of the blending thermoplastic elsatomerwhich was vulcanized with three different curing systems, such as sulfur, DCP,Phenolic resin A, was studied. The best curing agent was sulfur, account 1 phr, thecontent of M and DM was 1.2 phr and 1.4 phr. On the basic of the selected curingagent, the effects of the reinforcing system and the softening system on theproperties of thermoplastic elastomer were studied. The conclusion as follows: thetensile strength and the hardness of blends were increased when the appropriateamount of reinforcing agents were filled. The best reinforcing effect was silica,which was 45 phr. The mechanical properties of blends softened with liquid olefinwere better than with naphthenic oil and macromolecule cere. Then the blending process technological was discussed. The results showed that the properties of TPOprepared in the 40r/min of cut speed, 160℃of blending temperature and 7 min ofdynamic vulcanized time were better, the blends had good properties after remilling.The properties between PSBR/PE blending thermoplastic elastomer and other TPOwere compared. And the microstructure characteristics and parameters of thethermoplastic elsatomer were analyzed by the methods of Scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), Differential scanning calorimeter and dynamic mechanicalspectrum.
