The design of return curves of the grooved drum thread guide trench has direct impact on the movement of yarn, the distribution of yarn loops, vibration and noise. , In this paper, researches were conducted with regard to the existing problems when the curves of thread guide trench are either parabola or arc, such as noise, the big crush of thread guide, the bad movement stationarity, the fast wear and short life span of the grooved drum, the worse winding formation of glass fiber and limitation for the rotational speed improvement of the drawbench.(1) The analysis of the direct glass fiber roving winding formation principle. The definition of the glass fiber roving is introduced. Then roving silk spindles including the partnership roving winding packages and the direct figuration roving principle is discussed. The yarn retracing curves of the cylindrical end are analyzed and the general stable conditions of the winding package end are got.(2) The analysis of the curves movement law for the glass fiber yarn winder grooved drum directly to the cam. The different types'movement and dynamic characteristic for grooved drum curves are analyzed and compared. The new curves which can decrease the crush when thread guide changing direction and extend the service life are provided. This can provide the design methods for the high speed thread guide mechanism and improve the productivity. What is more, the advantage of movement and dynamic characteristics are verified through experiments.(3) The direct glass fiber yarn winding formation simulation study. The winding formation parameters are introduced. The overlapping phenomenon of winding formation is discussed. The impact of winding package ratio on winding formation overlapping phenomena is analyzed. The winding package ratio formula is deduced. And through modifying and simulation, we got the point changing spiral patterns of the end. The accuracy of the simulation results are verified through experiments.
