Remanufacturing technology is an emerging repair technology which appeared in the world recently.The resurfacing welding technique has been used in the field repairing for flange sealing-face on large-sized pressure vessels.The paper introduced two kinds of the invalidation forms at flange sealing-face on large-sized pressure vessels.At the same time,corresponding repair methods were put forward, including resurfacing welding and following maching.In order to process flange sealing-face on large-sized pressure vessels,we designed the lathe for face futting on the spot.Because of processing on spot,the lathe must have properties of lower mass,higher rigidity,precise maching.Hence,I applied FEM and optimization to the Lathe for face cutting on the spot.Firstly,the static analyses were applied on the swing arm,spindle and whole entity.Get the nodal displacement and stress of them.Then the worse parts of structure were found.Five different structures were given,use the static analyse to find the rational structure.Secondly,the modal analyses were applied on the swing arm,spindle.As a result,the stable frequency and corresponding oscillating mode have been got.Thirdly,the harmonic response analyses were applied on the swing arm,spindle. The response curves of the amplitude for frequence in the determined condition were obtained.At last,I builded the swing arm in parameter way,set the main dimension as design variable,set the nodal displacement and stress as state variable and set the whole volume as objective variable in ANSYS.By FEM and optimization,I got the structure with lowest weight,which displacement was between 0.02~0.05mm.
