Xintan is a unconsolidated sandstone reservoir with a high sand production. In order to control sanding and keep well's conventional production, we must pay attention to sand control technology for this oilfield. All the used methods were failed with a badly performance of low success rate and short validity for the same reason that they did not suit for the reservoir's low temperature. For this reason, this thesis analyzed the sanding mechanism of unconsolidated sandstone reservoir and tried to find a new sand control method that can be useful for Xintan oilfield. Actually, we got a new sand control agent which is made up of sulpho-aluminate cement and feldpathic sand that have a good performance in low temperature resistant. Laboratory and field experiment indicated that the new agent can fulfill Xintan oilfield's sand control requirement and is convenient and economy.
