The Yanmuxi Tertiary oil reservoir belongs to loose sandstone reservoir with low cementation intensity. There is sand-exist phenomenon in the early development stage. Along with the reservoir water injection development and increasing water cut, sand-exist is aggravated, which results in severe effect on reservoir development day by day. In the reservoir development process, with the development of new sand control theories and technologies at home and abroad, the tertiary reservoir sand control process is also gradually improved and enhanced. Many sand control technologies such as the casing suspension sand control, tubing hanger sand control, chemical sand control, fracturing sand control and high pressure filling sand control have been taken in the field tests, which gradually leads to the technical ideas of "the row" combined with oil and water Wells (mechanical sand control points note auxiliary chemical sand control, basically meeting the needs for normal production in different stages of the reservoir sand.This paper starts with the sand mechanism and emphasizes on the calculation of sand production index, the critical pressure difference, critical strength and water cut in liquid rises and the sand relations quantitative index, and so on. On the basis of systematic analysis, conclusion and evaluation of the adaptability of the previous sand control technology according to out sand reservoir characteristics in different development phase, the compound sand control technology system applicable to the current stage of the reservoir development was formed and has been improved. In2011, sand control technologies including the auxiliary circulation filling sand control pressure points, water controlling fracturing sand control and water injection well sand control points note, mechanical sand control points note auxiliary chemical sand control and sand control technology,etc. do well in oil fields and achieve an increasing or stable oil production in the high water cut stage, which technically support the comprehensive management and improvement of the water-injection oil reservoir in the middle and late development stage as well as provide mature technologies and successful experiences for the sand control technology of similar loose sandstone reservoir.
