In this work, a comprehensive investigation into Correlation factor analyses of sensory coziness of cigarettes had been conducted, based on some key factors including dryness, irritation and cleanness of sensory quality of cigarettes. It aims to improve the Chinese type cigarette quality to achieve a higher level of sensory coziness, consequently promote the competitive power in the market.60 representative tobacco raw materials which plants in china and other countries were used as research materials. The study includes the following five aspects: 1.Established cigarette sensory coziness evaluation methods, and 60 representative raw materials of tobacco were evaluated by using this methods.2. A ultra high performance liquid chromatographic method (UPLC) was developed for determination of total nicotine and free-base nicotine in cigarette MainStream Smoke, The extraction conditions of free nicotine and protonated nicotine in trapped mainstream cigarette smoke total particulate matter were studied by using water and chloroform. Mobile phase was consisted of trifluoroacetic acid buffer (pH=3) and acetonitrile (86:14(v/v)) containing 0.004 M sodium heptanesulfonate as an ion pair agent. The linearity was obtained in the range of 0.06-129μg/ml concentrations of nicotine. The regressive equation is Area= 9627.2×C+475.79. The correlation coefficient was 0.9999. The recoveries of nicotine were ranged from 96.6-103.7% with average value of 99.6%. The limit of detection was 60ng/ml. The method was applied to the actual commercial cigarettes.3.60 samples of mainstream smoke chemical compounds including ammonia, nicotine, free based nicotine, main carbonyl compounds, main phenolic compounds were measured by using relevant analytical instrumental methods and the content distribution of these compounds was analyzed. The results of mainstream smoke chemical compounds from 60 single-grade cigarette samples and sensory evaluation data were used to analyse the correlation between contents of these compounds and cigarette sensory coziness by statistical analysis in detail.4. The influences of sensory coziness of cigarette caused by humectant, such as glycerin, propylene glycol, Sorbitol, honey, glucose, Xylitol were investigated. Subsequently a proper amount of humectan in cigarette was discussed. An excess content of humectant in cigarette can cause a negative effection to sensory coziness of smoking.5. New humectants of polysaccharides and surfactants had been developed based on the preceding results. They have some better performance and compatibilities for use in cigarette. There are no harmful chemicals found in our study.
