Research On Color Management Techology For Spot Color Printing

In the system of spot-color printing, spot color management technology has a direct impact on the effectiveness of printing. With the spot-color printing more and more widely used, the research of spot-color printing color management technologies has great practical value.First, the shortcomings of traditional spot-color printing are discussed in the paper. Based on the study of printing spectral theory, a technology of new spot-color gamut forecast has been raised. By means of analyzing the characteristics of the spot-color gamut and investigating the traditional way of ICC color rendering and color gamut matching methods, a gamut-matching algorithm is proposed. Finally, on the basis of analyzing the ICC color management system and the format of the ICC Profile, two methods of spot-color ICC Profile generation are proposed, and the conresponding ICC Profile of which are tested by soft proofing.The reaserch of this paper, have a great value to the further research on the ICC-based CMS of spot-color,which is expected to be benefical the in the development of spot-color printing color management software and the soft-copy of spot-color printing.
