With the gradual development of electronic chart technology, its application domain is unceasingly expanding. Taking electronic chart data service system as engineering background, contraposing the problem that the kind of client of electronic chart data service system is single.Condisering the particularity of hardware and software in diminutive products, embedded technology is combined with electronic chart technology to develop an embedded electronic charts wireless service terminal which has independent intellectual property, which is an important significance value.In this paper, based on Windows CE 5.0 and EVC 4.0 as development system, the process of development that embedded technology of electronic chart is applied in diminutive system is analysed. Deeply researching on the electronic chart display technology, the optimize technology of chart layers'elements, control factor of scale, cross-linked table technology, dynamic buffering mechanism and so on. At the same time, Combing the communication technology and download approach to design with the electronic chart data server. Particularly introducing the system, module and using the UML to analyse the software system of electronic chart service terminal. Case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram and activity diagrame are implemented. Finally, the communication problem between the embedded electronic chart service terminal and electronic chart data server is solved, as well as the operation function of the visualization charts terminal is finished.Finally, simulating the network environment of electronic chart data service system, electronic chart service terminal is linked to electronic chart data server. The system functions are tested, whose results indicate that the design of the electronic chart service terminal is reasonable, and meet the demands of information support and guarantee of information data service system in ship.
