In recent years, with the great development of social economy, the national power grid has been rapidly developed. In present stage, each power meter is assigned to one corresponding electric power user, and the power supply enterprise is carrying on the policy which makes sure every user is under well control step by step. However, the power supply enterprise finds more and more difficulties in managing the power grid, because of the number of the users is increasing rapidly. Obviously the traditional remote power meter-reading and monitoring system doesn't meet the requirement of present time. The power supply enterprise is urge to find another wireless remote solution, which needs little investment, easy installation, reliable communication and high accuracy, to replace the traditional one. How to collect the large number of separated used-power meter and the concerned data, and calculate and analyze it accurately, has become an urge problem to be solved to the power supply enterprise.Taking present technology of the electricity remote monitoring system as reference, this dissertation puts forward an electricity remote monitoring system basing on communication module GR64 and a high performance ARM7 device LPC2294. The dissertation firstly introduces the features of GPRS and GR64, then focusing on explaining the structure and theory of remote meter reading system by GPRS. It also gives out the hardware structure drawing and a brief introduction of the software and hardware design process, afterwards, the remote automatic meter-reading management system is mainly introduced. Practical application proves that this system is able to achieve remote meter reading, real time monitoring, and anti-electricity-stealing efficiently, meanwhile it's also very cost-effective.The main research contents of this dissertation are as follows:The 1st chapter clarifies the purpose of this dissertation by introducing the current domestic and foreign technology of remote meter reading, the purpose of carrying out remote meter reading and the use of embedded technology in electricity system.The 2~nd chapter presents the confirmed solution of the remote meter reading system. Firstly, introduces several traditional communication methods of power meter reading, then calls out the modern advanced communication technologies and explain their features. Finally determines the solution for automatic meter reading with GPRS wireless communication technology.The 3~rd chapter introduces the requirements of the remote automatic meter-reading management system.The 4th chapter introduces the technical requirement of electrical energy collection terminal.The 5th chapter introduces in details about the design of the substation software system, which includes 4 modules:main station communication and process module; timing module; meter communication module; backstage managementrage module.At the end of this dissertation, it gives the main research conclusion and put forward an expectation in optimizing the system by further researches.
