As a totem of modern civilization with the rapid development of automobile industry, the importance of vehicle safety is increasingly apparent. The gradual development of sophisticated electronic stability control (ESP) based on ABS and TCS can significantly improve vehicle handling stability and driving safety. It can make a comprehensive analysis of the intention of the driver, vehicle operation and the status of the road, then interfere the engine and brake system to achieve the control of the vehicle. In case of extreme conditions, the control effect is very obvious.The development of ESP product is not a simple task. Regardless of the preparation of control algorithms, hardware and software design or testing the effects of the products, a lot of works are needed. As the most direct and effective way to test the ESP products——vehicle road test, which itself has many problems difficult to overcome such as cost, environmental demanding and parts of security risk conditions. With the in-depth vehicle dynamics model, the hardware in the loop simulation technology goes into people's vision gradually. Using it to develop ESP product, not only can avoid the risk of road test and the harsh environmental requirements, but also can control the test conditions, make a rapid replacement of system components or the control algorithm. It can reduce the product development costs and short the research cycle.This thesis analyzes the development of ESP hardware in the loop simulation platform in the domestic colleges and universities, then offer a specific description of the overall structure, working principle and the functions of the test-bed, at last make a design of ESP hardware in the loop test-bed based on DSPACE according the realities. The article is mainly based on the preliminary development work of the bench——building and debugging. The following is the specific research work:Fist, determine the direction of research. To understand the research purposes, history and research prospects of ESP and its hardware in the loop simulation test-bed, clear the task based on the actual need of the study.Second, the proposed test-bed design. Make a comprehensive analysis the progress and results of the ESP hardware in the loop bench of the each domestic college. Combined with the actual situation of research group, propose the overall structure of the test-bed. Then make a brief introduction of its working principle.Third, the seting up of the hardware in the loop test-bed. Select the hardware and software according to the proposed design and the target vehicle. In this paper, the real-time simulation platform is built based on DSPACE, with its processor board, data acquisition card, communication system and some components of the real vehicle to build the hardware system of the test-bed, with its experimental and accompanying software and the vehicle dynamics simulation model of TESIS after modified to build the software system of the test/bed. Ensure the normal operation of the experiment station after debugging, and then make it a good layout in the room in accordance with the actual conditions of the research.Fourth, the test-bed model parameters calibration. With the off-line simulation function of the real vehicle test equipment CANoe, the vehicle information collected from the real road test can be displayed graphic, also can be entered to the vehicle model according the research need to calibrate the accuracy of the model parameters. The article sets the vehicle model parameters based on the target vehicle, and then make a calibration to parts of the vehicle parameters by using the real vehicle parameters in order to improve the accuracy of the simulation test-bed.Fifth, the testing of the simulation results. Install the same ECU as real vehicle in the bench after the parameters calibration, then make simulation as nearly as real vehicle, then illustrate the development of hardware in the loop bench is reliability by comparison the data. This is the foundation of the use of independent research and development ECU and a lot of ESP product performance evaluation tests.
