Smart grid is a complete information architecture and infrastructure system. Through GPRS networks and meter reading terminal,the electricity sector can transfer the system data to monitor center at the same time.So it will realize the unification monitoring of the electric equipment and management of distributed.This paper introduces a design of GPRS terminal meter-reading system.It introduces the transmission system of GPRS technologies.It also designs the whole plan of the Terminal meter reading system and analyzes its overall plan works.Terminal meter-reading system hardware design includes:STM32F control unit and power circuit,data acquisition circuit,auxiliary function circuit,GPRS communication module circuit and Hardware anti-interference measures. STM32 control unit and power circuit is composed of STM32F control unit and power circuit;Data acquisition circuit is composed of RS-485 isolating circuit and RS-232 isolating circuit;The auxiliary function circuit is composed of switch control circuit,the system of switch control monitoring for prevention of stealing electri- city and equipment maintenance time statistics circuit;Communication module- circuit is composed of GTM900 module power supply, start-up circuit, the GTM900 module communication interface and the SIM card interface circuits.The paper presented each circuit principle diagram.This paper designs the meter reading system software functions include: GTM900 communication module initialization,network connection and data transmission,multi-functional meter data collection and transmission,the switch control and monitoring,etc.It also illustrate how to use C language to design the programs such as data acquisition and transmission,switch control and monitor- ing and data maintenance,failure alarm and data packets to maintain and so on.In the design process it introduces the design scheme of the meter reading terminal monitoring software.It also shows the overall structure chart of meter reading terminal embedded software.By debugging and testing, the terminal meter-reading system which is illustrated in this paper can satisfy the requirement of intelligent network on the way of GPRS-based meter terminal.Through electronic terminals it can reach the interaction and real-time connectivity to network between customers and users, the users and the grid,so as to ensure that the power system can get real-time monitoring and reasonable distribution.
