The Study For Application Of Product Data Management In Ship Designing

With the various computer application systems having been implemented more and more in domestic ship enterprises, product efficiency has been greatly improved. These systems have created vast benefit and earned markets for enterprises. But they brought about much independence "automated island" with different forms of data store and process, so the information of system cannot be transferred and exchanged automatically. As the result, the integrity and safety of product data in various departments and every developing phase cannot be guaranteed, and communication of product information is handicapped. PDM (Product data management) developed under this background. It base on software technique, treat the product as its core, realize the integration of data, process, and enterprise resources.Firstly, thesis introduces the situation and problems of ship manufacturing enterprises, expounds background and function of PDM technology, analyzes situation and trend of PDM system, and proposes the architecture of PDM system. With that, thesis describes the key function module of PDM system, for example, data vault/document management, workflow/process management, product structure and configuration management, and so on.Secondly, after introducing basic module of Windchill, according to the background of ship enterprise to execute PDM, the architecture of product data management based on Windchill in shipbuilding is presented. The function and the information model of system, and the customization of the PDM system are described. Based on the product structure tree, having discussed the data trait of ship, a model of product structure and configuration management in shipbuilding is presented to describe the configuration tree of ship product. Applying this model of product definition, enterprises can manage all the information of ship product.Thirdly, thesis researches the principle of workflow/process management. Based on Windchill system, thesis analyzes the approach of workflow/process management in Windchill. As a case, designing a approving workflow for shipdrawing, which includes Life Cycles, Workflow Template, and Projects. This workflow is realized in Windchill.Finally, thesis researches the application integration of PDM, analyzes the necessary factor of integration, and presents the model of integrating PDM with CAx and ERP. Besides that, thesis describes the implementation steps of PDM, analyzes the trend of PDM in the future.In the section of summary, the disadvantages of the thesis are presented, which form the objectives for the future research and works.
