Environment-Behavior Study is a new concept in China. Although its framework of rationale has already taken shape, it cannot be denied that theories concerning EBS still need improving. What we have noticed is that the existing theories are not functioning properly in practical work and therefore this thesis intends to detect the underlying problems and then strike a balance between EBS and architecture design. Based on the rationale of EBS home and abroad as well as the concrete operating mode of real estate exploitation, this study hopes to work out a feasible model of EBS that integrates multidisciplinary insights. The dissertation is divided into three parts.Part one of the thesis is "clean up the theories ", includes Chapter One and Chapter Two. It introduces the framework of rationale through a full exposition of the concept of EBS.Part two of the thesis is "analyze the nous", includes Chapter Three, Chapter Four and Chapter Five. Besides, it studies the existing model of EBS, analyzing its advantages and disadvantages. Finally, an ideal operating mode of EBS will be put forward. Part two presents a case study of "Shuhe Town Chama Posthouse Project". By employing knowledge derived from several different disciplines, this part demonstrates the new mode of EBS. The consistency and feasibility of this mode will be proved in this part. It is hoped that this mode may benefit future EBS.Part three of the thesis is "prospect cause". It is the epilogue of the thesis. It emphasizes that "design for people" is the most important to investigate and design. And "fit" people's need. To the future, EBS must be more standardization and more systematization in design.
