Along with the development of the global economy integrating, the port has become an important node of the transportation and the supply chain. The internal and overseas experience indicate that the expedite traffic system and the modern traffic management will be the pivotal factor of the port. Therefore, the traffic planning of the port must be paid more attention.Dayaowan port is an important container port of Dalian, and it will be the international shipping center of the Northeast Asia area in the future. This paper chiefly introduces the traffic planning of Dayaowan port. It aims to improve the traffic and optimize the collecting and distributing system of the port.Firstly, the author investigates the actual traffic of the port, and finds out the changing rule of the traffic volume in one day. The primary problems are pointed out On the base of the traffic investigation, considering the special status of the transportation, the author establishes the math model that is used to calculate the road capacity of the port. Then, the intending traffic prediction of the vehicle is also given in the paper. The result is used to deduce the OD matrix in the future. In the traffic assignment, depending on the advanced software TransCAD, the author does some research in SUE and gets some scientific parameters of the model. The simulation results of the traffic assignment accord with the actual status of the road nets. They are scientific proof for the traffic planning. Finally, this paper introduces the total aim of the traffic planning in Dayaowan container port, and also gives some practical advices. The research method of this paper is scientific, repetitive and developmental. As an organic integer, it can be used in other traffic planning projects of the port.
