Hydrologic data acquisition system(HDAS) is an un-engineering measure, which has been adopted by many countries in the world. The technology of HDAS involved the knowledge such as communication, sensor, electronic, weather, hydrology, geography, etc.. It also can realize automation of data acquisition, transmission, data management and information service. In this article, the aim and design method of HDAS for Baise Reservoir are provided based on the condition of the drainage area, status of water regime, condition of communication, also combine with newest development of HADS in the world. Arrangement of station, design of communication network, system of data of data procession, reliability of system are systematically analysed and compared., then the HDAS of BAISE Reservoir based on BeiDou satellite communication system were designed .Now the system has established and running stably. With the condition of stability working of HDAS of BAISE Reservoir, BAISE Reservoir will contribute more power energy and economy benefit. More importance are the system will provided more important information for flood prevention. The study of this article will establish foundation of popularity of HDAS based on BeiDou satellite communication system.
