The rapid development of information technology leads to the innovation of automatic system structure. The demand on control networks is increasing gradually, control networks not only need support real-time communication, but also has the characteristics of openness, standardization and high performance-price ratio. As a typical real-time distributed control network, fieldbus changes the framework of traditional control networks, achieves real distributed control. Field bus technology is a digital, distributed, open and inter-operational technology which represents the development trend of industrial control system. In this paper, the application of fieldbus technology in the field control layer is studied and two parts are discussed as follows:1. Fieldbus technology is introduced in this paper, and several types of fieldbus are analyzed and compared. By analysis the key technology and application characteristics of fieldbus and Ethernet, a duel network structure of the FMS control system based on PROFIBUS-DP and Ethernet technology is presented combined with project example I participate in, and advantages of the structure are expounded as well, Meanwhile, the transmitting function of NC code based on Ethernet is achieved.2. From the FMS perspective, the concept of open network CNC and its technical contents are introduced in depth. Based on the analysis of main characters and developing trends of open CNC , in this paper, a general architecture of open CNC hardware platform based on PC and fieldbus is presented, combined with the demands of open systems. On the hardware platform, a open network CNC software architecture based on Windows NT+RTX operating system is proposed. Such CNC model can improve the coupling in all software components and realize interchanging of the software component. At last several relevant techniques needed to realize this CNC platform are studied.
