With the development of the economy and society, social demand for water will increase gradually. In a lot of regions of our country, contradictions of water resources supply and demand have become the choke point to the development of economy and society. It affects seriously sustainable development of the society and economy. The agriculture and pasturage interlaced zone of northern Shaanxi is energy and heavy chemical industry base of China and it is also one of a key region of development and construction. With economy and society developing with great speed, demand for water resource in agriculture and pasturage interlaced zone of northern Shaanxi will increase rapidly, so the problem of water resource supply and demand will become a crisis problem to the whole region. Research the supply and demand trend of water resource in the agriculture and pasturage interlaced zone of northern Shaanxi will have strategic sense for sustainable development of the society and economy of the whole region.Through analyzing and evaluating for status quo and exploitation & utilization situation of the region's water resource, we can conclusion that the distribution of this region's water resource is not balance, and that water quality is bad, and that the trend of water reducing is prominent, and that the river's sediment concentration in the north of the Great Wall is much less than that in the south of the Great Wall. During exploiting and utilizing the water resource, utilization of surface water and groundwater are all playing an important role in this region, and agricultural water consumption are the most in all industries. By comparing to the exploitation and utilization of water resource, author of the paper deem that there are still have potential for water exploiting in this region.
