The dynamic characteristics of tractive elevator have been studied using theoretical analysis and computer simulation in this dissertation. Based on the analysis of the structure and vertical vibration mechanism of elevators, a 7-degree-freedom dynamic model at the excitation of acceleration moving and deceleration moving is established by simplifying the physical model reasonable. Using the same method as above, a 5-degree-freedom dynamic model at the excitation of guide shoe system of horizontal direction for tractive elevators is established. Moreover, after analyzing the principal of modal and transient response by dynamic equation considering damping and no-damping conditions, several kinds of different computing methods are given including the broad-eigenwert method or matrix-analyzing method for natural frequency and the Duhamel's integral or Runge-Kutta method for transient response. With VC++ and MATLAB, the simulation software is developed using for the analysis of modal, transient response, sensibility and parameter of tractive elevator in different condition. The results show that natural frequency and the amplitude of transient response in full load condition is lower than that in empty load, the stiffness changing of the rope and the spring connecting car and rope have serious effects on the vertical vibration of elevator. The natural frequency of horizontal vibration increase with the guide wheel stiffness' increasing. The natural frequency and sensibility are affected markedly when stiffness changes in low level range. The results will be the useful references for the elevator design.
