Manufacturing Execution System is a management information system centered on production processes such as planning,scheduling,resource-tracking and management. It systematically controls and coordinates each production units. Up to now, most of the workshop scheduling system can only implement simple-object scheduling functions, and its scheduling rule is fixed, thus can not meet the requirements of enterprise production.This paper analyzes the critical issues of workshop production scheduling system, studies scheduling system designing in variety and small batch(Job Shop) production. It adopts an algorithm based on heuristic rule to develop a Job Shop scheduling system oriented to MES. The algorithm which aims at in-time delivery and least process time can achieves ideal scheduling results。The intuitionistic computer interface make relevant personnel manage in a man-machine conversation way with much convenience.Additionally, the paper analyses the foreground of data mining application in workshop scheduling. It introduces the method of finding combinatorial rules by decision tree based on C4.5 algorithm. The hidden rules of sequencing can be picked out from historical data to solve the problem of working procedures competing on one machine in delivery and production time multiple-objects scheduling problem. By means of practical examples, the detail steps of this algorithm are be expatiated and its feasibility is proved.
