Garden In Air Of High-rise Residential Building Disquisition

Residential architecture in China should adhere to people-oriented principle, follow scientific development viewpoint, reflect the harmony of human-beings and nature and coordination of society and nature. Such building is just an ecological one, which can satisfy people's various demands.Unfortunately, China has a large population and every resource per capita is comparatively low. As one of rarely resources, land cannot be recycled which increases the inadequacy of land for residence. So, the major task faced by the architects is building high-quality residence and improving residential conditions and qualities. In architecture design, combination of Garden in air and High-rise building is one of explores aimed at better residential environment in China at the moment. This paper integrates domestic and foreign examples, follows the ecological and natural rules, elaborates theories about three-dimensional green-making, garden in air design, construct and maintenance, can be utilized in architecture design, and as a result, seeks technological methods in architecture and afford amenity facilities for person.The paper is composed of five chapters. The first part, analyzes the background, defines the content and extent, introduces the goal and methods, explains purpose and meaning in the research, balances the logical structure in study.The second part, discusses the definition of High-rise building and Garden in air, reviews the history of High-rise building and Garden in air, divides the developmental phrases of High-rise building's history, distinguishes the emphasis between Chinese and the Western Garden, enumerates modern representatives which combine Garden in air and High-rise building together.The third part is a major part in the paper. Based on the previous parts discussed, this part analyzes the inadequacy of theoretic support and technical problems when garden in air is adopted in high-rise buildings in two levels: design and construct. This part begins from green making in residence, elaborates cubic green-making designs and technologies including on the ground, on the floors and on the roofs. The construction of garden in air is a systematic project, which should not be independent to opposite large environment of the city and small one in the community. So this part begins with the influences of environment, elaborates the impacts of natural environment, governmental architectural rules, structure and load, etc., discusses the demand to plants, cultivate methods, soil, containers, irrigate and drainage system, furniture, illuminations, etc. when design and construction, analyzes basic layer in air garden, provides advises to maintain air gardens and prospects for future development of garden in air.The fourth part is an example analysis. The paper, which takes Swan-lake Garden in Chengdu as a blueprint, dissects the instance in design and building of the Garden in High-rise residence, and on the basis discusses the design of architectural elevation and air garden.Finally, the conclusion drawn with analysis, induct and summary about the design and construction of garden in air in high-rise buildings, is that such form may increase the land usage rate and improve residential environment. And at last, it is pointed out that garden in air need develop and improve.
