Ecological Municipal Engineering

Fast urbanization with cities centered caused that landscape pattern is changing at a high speed and eco-system unbalanced. The most obvious characteristic of urbanization is highly artificial, and cities themselves are high-class products of human behaviors. Driven by urbanization, so many municipal engineering projects are over the country. But in the past, immature design and construction had a awful influence on environment. Nowadays, most European and American cities have attached great importance to the problem, so has china.The thesis reviews most kinds of theories on ecological municipal engineering, although there isn't systemic and all-sided research on it. The thesis firstly provides the pertinence definition of some correlative concepts such as ecological infrastructure, green infrastructure, sustainable development of infrastructure and ecological engineering. Then, it summarizes historical and existent research. These concepts and theories establish a foundation for research of ecological municipal engineering in China.In the core part of the thesis, it discusses about ecological function of ecological municipal engineering and the relationships between all kinds of municipal engineering, the main goals and standards of ecological municipal engineering, planning and design principles of ecological municipal engineering, and the guidelines for it. the core part take focus on the planning and design principles and the guidelines, because they really work in planning and design of municipal engineering.In the end, the thesis takes ecological planning and design of highway,river bank,solid greening,parking lots as an example, and discusses about influences on environment from highway, the measures that can make highway ecological, and eco-techniques of slope revetment.
