| This paper introduces the developing background and application in domestic and abroad.According to the distribution network struction and operation, based on investigation of several distribution automation character, the mode of distribution automation in Longyao Country is decided, feeder line automation, the function of FTU, communication system project and the SCADA system are researched. A new fault-isolation method is presented. The contradictions between operating time of each switches and fault-isolation in distribution automation is avoided. The system can isolate fault accuracy and timely in actual operation. It also can supply effective restoration scheme and improve Longyao Country distribution network.
