Distribution automation is an effective measure to improve power supply reliability and power quality.Distribution network automation is divided into two aspects,which are operating automation and management automation.The operating system is the foundation and key of distribution automation.In the mainstream of the feeder automation technology,the feeder automation terminal is directly connected with primary equipment to measure date,which directly related to power supply reliability.Feeder Automation is a vital significance subsystem for distribution network automation system.The quality of FTU in current market varies greatly,quite a part can't demand the requirements of future feeder automation.Therefore,the research of high-performance FTU have important significance.Firstly,this article introduce the concept of distribution network automation.Secondly,analyzed the structure of distribution network automation syste m.Finally,summarized the function and structure of feeder automation system.Based on analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of several popular control modes for feeder automation,this article proposed a control mode and scheme for future feeder automation.Then,designed a FTU which matched the control mode and scheme.Based on modular design ideals,this article designed the hardware of FTU in detail.In view of the functional requirements of FTU,studied the FIR filter algorithm,developed the relevant application software,and gived the main module of electrical principle diagram and main program flow chart.On the foundation of the maintenance software of FTU and relay protection test instrument,this article built a laboratory test platform.Then based on the platform had a laboratory experiment to test the main protection function.The laboratory experiment verified the FTU designed in this paper the key indexes reach or exceed the current industry index,achieved the expected design goal,has a certain application value.
