Angle measurement plays an important role in the geometric measurement. With the development of the industry system, the existing angle instruments can't meet the requirements in some kind of applications, because of its limitations in measurement range, accuracy, the power consumption and volume.The subject aimed at the micro-angle measurement problems in the field of machine tool, airplane and shipping manufactures and the wide-angle measurement problems in rail and military navigation systems, in which the angle measurement method and apparatus is analyzed in detail and a new dual-function angle measuring system is designed which can be used in micro-angle and wide-angle measurement. The system use the same master cuicuit to process and transmit the two sensors'output signal, thus simplifying the overall design of the measurement system and increase the scope of its application.The main research works are listed as follows:1. A new model is presented based on the extensive research, which integrates the micro-angle measurement and wide-angle measurement to the same measurement system and make the dual-function and modularization design come true.2. Converting the geometric to electricity by choosing different sensors, which aimed at the distinction in the measuring range and resolution in the micro-angle and wide-angle.3. The frame of the micro-angle measuring instrument is designed by using the double-precision micro-mechanical displacement spring. For the system, an unified monitoring and control circuits is designed which can do the work of data acquisition, signal processing, signal transmission and display.4. The relationship between the output of the micro-angle measuring sensor and the measured angle is non-linearity, so a curve fitting method is researched. This method improves the linearity of the measuring system, and lays the groundwork to the wide-angle measurement's linearization.5. On the basis of achieving local display, the computer interface and PC software is designed in order to meet the needs of data processing application in the computer. 6. A series of experiments including linearity, repeatability and stability are carried out and the experimental results are analyzed.
