The Research On Actutal Effect Of Continuing Education For Chinese Registered Architect

With the fast economic development in China, the construction industry in domestic market is unprecedentedly expanding, which bring forward a social demand of unprecendented"quality"and"quantity"for the education of construction talent. In the meantime, lots of architecture offices from abroad are penetrating niche markets in China with their broad and international horizon, higher career quality, excellent performance and flexible mechanism for marketization are better than those designing institute with a feature of integration in China temporarily.Even though there are the best outstanding architectural designing units such as Beijing architectural designing institute and Shanghai modern designing company limited, as well as those large cities with a large quantity of fixed capital investment, like Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Shenzhen, the fierce competition still exists in the present architectural designing market. Market competition is based on talent competition. Nowadays, the volume of designing task in large designing institutes only satisfy 50%-80% of total design capability, and the saturation of designing task in small and medium units is relatively low. The surplus of production capacity in domestic construction companies, and the imbalance of supply and demand in designing market are resulted from the lack of outstanding architecture talents. On the one hand, the postgraduates in construction colleges and universities are less qualified for practice work for architecture, not to mention the undergraduates. On the other hand, most architects blindly follow the fashion, copy and imitate the architectural style in the west, very few architects are regarded as grate and outstanding architects having their own designing styles. The profound change in society suggests that Chinese architects must become a inter-disciplinary talent having a good command of society, economy, environment management and technology from who of single professional skills. However, continuing education is the optimum method for resolving the problem.At present, the continuing education for registered architect is put into effect, the government will adopt the measures for a compulsory education carried out in every two years for not less than 80 hours for registered architects. The education for registered architect is attracted by many people of all walks of life, but the actual effect is not satisfying. Due to inadequate attention of the effect for continuing education paied by society and government, and the lack of deep thought about the practical effect of continuing education, it is meaning for us to make a research for this problem. The paper is written to draw out these problems during the research and discuss the management mode of continuing education, in the respect of executive management, and for the purpose of practical effect of continuing education for registered architects. I wish that many insiders can get inspiration from this.
