Planetary gear reducer is a most important element of Electrical submersible motor driven progressing cavity pumping system (ESPCPS).Mechanical deceleration is achieved by planetary gear drive that is based on the operating principle of planetary gear system. Serialization design technology is one of the modern design technologies, and it is very important to research and apply it.In this paper, the constitution and operating principle of ESPCPS as well as its characteristic are introduced simply. The feasibility of planetary gear drive structure applying in ESPCPS' reducer is analyzed, and the design process of submersible gear planetary reducer is expounded. For applying serialization design technology into designing of reducer, the study of theory of serialization design and meaning to developing of product is researched in this paper. For fussy calculate process of planetary reducer, digital design program of submersible planetary reducer by UGNX expression are completed. After having completed design, author summary and bring up 3D feature molding and parameterization design system of submersible gear planetary reducer, especially sharing technique of feature parameter. Optimization design of planetary reducer is completed by MATLAB and serialization design is completed by visual editor ofUGNX.Based on above work, modernism method of mechanical design such as virtual assembly and dynamic simulation are applying in the submersible planetary gear reducer design. Modeling of product of reducer is achieved by virtual assembly for producing parts by Unigraphics which is based on facing technology. This paper applies planetary geared systems to a kind of ESPCPS' reducer, and stablishes its 3D solid model and does its movement simulation in UGNX. Through the result of movement simulation, it confirms theoretically the feasibility and validity of planetary gear reducer theory to apply in the gear reduction transmission mechanism and promotes the further development of researching planetary gear reducer theory. In summary ,this study provides a kind of new clue for planetary gear reducer, has certain practical significance to the promoted application of this kind of transmission.
