Transformer is one of the most important equipment on electric power transmission. The transformer quality and reliability is directly related to the security and reliability of electric power transmission. Transformer test is a important measure on transformer quality inspection and an important guarantee of product quality management for enterprise. Manually operated transformer test is not only inefficient on production, but has brought high labor intensity. So, it's especially important to improve the automation degree of transformer test.Generally, the transformer test level and it's automation degree is still low in our country compared with developed country, which causes the hindrance to the improvement of transformer production of our country. In the last few years, some domestic instrument manufacturer begin to be attention to the problem and has produced some automatic-instrument and integrated test-bed for transformer test to meet the need of the transformer manufacturer. But for temperature-rise test which is an extremely important transformer type test, however, their product general has not concerned with. So, the paper is going to design a relatively suitable automatic-control system which is aimed at the realization of temperature-rise test automation of transformer and emphasis on the first stage of short-circuit method of temperature-rise test. The system include field controlling section and PC section. The field controlling section will take single chip microcomputer as the central control unit of the system to realize signal sampling and processing and real-time control for test power source; the PC section, which will connect with the field controlling section by serial communication interface, is mainly responsible for remote controlling and the conservation and display of testing data, furthermore generating test report. The paper take ICC AVR as the development tool and use C language in single chip microcomputer programming;VC++.net is took as the main tool in PC section programming, which is combined with database technology to achieve final management of temperature-rise test.This paper elaborates the aim, the measure, and the result calculating method of temperature-rise test. Base on this, designing a auto-control system, giving the choose of the main action element of every unit and introducing their fundamental technology information, then displaying the circuit schematic of the main section of the system. In software aspects, using c language in single chip microcomputer programming, which has achieved the function of the field control section, then displaying the flow chart of the main programme. Developed the programme of the PC section by using VC++.net, then displaying the flow chart of the main programme.By preliminary testing, it can improve the automation level of transformer test and reduce labor intensity of the operator by using the temperature-rise test auto-control system.
