Substation operation plays an important role in power system. The application of Substation Operation Management Information System (SOMIS) can reduce the burden of operator and manager and improve work standardization and efficiency. Also it is significant for security and economic running of power system.Aim at the fact of substation operation in Power Supply Factory of Baotou Steel Company, through deep investigation and analysis, a substation operation model is set up, its function is described in detail and operation flow designs involved are improved and designed. Referring to Common Information Model, substation operation database is designed. Further, the main work of the SOMISS based on B/S is developed using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005.
