| At present, people don't show much attention to Life-cycle Cost Management (LCCM)on metro project in China. During operation period, the maintenance of the metro vehicle is mainly a combination of regular and failure maintenance. This results in insufficiency with lack of pertinence, low efficiency, high cost and so on.This study analyzes the reasons and assesses hazards of failure modes by drawing on the method of failure mode,effect and criticality analysis (FMEA). In the meantime, reliability--centered maintenance (RCM) is also used to analyze results and different maintenance strategies are adopted for different components and systems. Corresponding software is developed to implement the functions of failure entry, statistics analysis, checking, abnormal alarming and RCM logical judgment analysis, which has been initially applied to Shanghai metro.The main contribution of this study is as follows. First, analysis methods including FMEA and RCM have been applied, which is a useful attempt and practice to optimize maintenance strategies in the industry; second, the study has established a maintenance database, which provides the basis for decision analysis of the maintenance work, improves the effectiveness of maintenance and increases maintenance pertinence; third, the software, which dynamically evaluates the actual situation of the metro vehicle, warns accidents and failures of high-frequency and great consequence and provides important basis for maintenance strategies. |
