Population aging is a major 21st century social problems, also is the main features of human development. Because of the particular social background and economic conditions and other reasons, some features of the aging in our country are different from the Western developed countries, so for the overall socio-economic sustainable development of China raised new challenges. The focus of this paper is how to comply with China's traditional culture and old-age home means combining cohabiting settlements planning and design, through the aging of the population in Xi'an status and development trend of the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly, modern planning and design of residential areas, government-related policies and measures such as in-depth study on the future of Xi'an proper aging of the feasibility of new residential areas and the basic model, and finally put forward a more rational planning strategy, so as to achieve at the macro level and their effective regulation and guidance to ease the city Rapid aging of the various aspects of pressure, so as to achieve the purpose of achieving positive aging. Urban households in urban residential area is the "root", it must be a base for old-age home, so home will definitely have an old-age model of the future residential area planning, design of new challenges and add new vitality into the new content, leading to its planning and design ideas, principles, contents, methods change. In addition, the old-age home into the residential area planning breakthrough of the traditional family pension only concerned with the limitations of the elderly, to look extends to the members of society as a whole body, but also reflects the inter-generational equity and equality for all ideas.
