The new Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway is mostly besides the existing Beijing-Shanghai line. During the process of the new line construction, there are not only many building sites besides the existing lines, but also many new bridges crossing over the existing lines. If something intrudes the existing line clearance, for example, the rock, steel bar and so on, it will threaten the safety of the train running along the existing line. At the same time, the progress of the construction project is going faster and faster, this threat also slows down the construction schedule. So it is urgent to find an effective method to ensure the train operation safety and also have no influence to the new line construction.This thesis introduces technology using in intruding objects measurment. There are tow technology used by different countries:contact technology and non-cintact technology. Consigering the complex situation of the building sites, it proposed a noncontact detection method using laser scanning sensors combining wireless communication modules.The whole system is designed to be a 2-level network, by analyzing the data from the laser scan equipments, the system will identify the threatening object and the train showing up in the existing line clearance. An identification algorithm is studied to analyze the data from the LMS-200 laser scan equipments. A local network system is set up using ZigBee technology. The laser equipment is the slave point which measure the status of the clearance, and the repeater station is the master point to summary the safety status of the whole building sites. A long range network is set up using GPRS technology. The long range network is used to transport the parameter and the warning data. Using the 2-level network, the system can actualize the bidirectional data communication.We have done experiments in Jinan and Taian tow building sites. The system can identify the threatening object and the train showing up in the existing line clearance.
