The stressed skin diaphragm is a structural system that considers profiled sheet of roof and metope working together with framework and purline. The connection methods of profiled sheet experienced a continuous optimization and improvements: it changes from the arc spot welding to self-tapping screws connects trough, self-tapping screws to the crest, trough mixed connection and the occlusal lock connection. This paper studied the Shear behavior of stressed skin diaphragms using"kok chiⅢ"profiled sheet connected by the supports. This breaked the traditional roofing connection with screw and used interlocked by bite instead to solve the roof leakage problems of the conventional series of profiled sheet, and thus is widely applied in the roof system.Based on the domestic and international studies of the experimental methods and research progenies of the stressed skin diaphragms test, this study performed stressed skin diaphragms tests on connections and wholly tests. In this paper, the material model of the stressed skin diaphragms was analyzed by the"ANSYS"software.According to the practices and theoretical researches on the"kok chiⅢ"profiled sheet carry on tests, this paper mainly discussed the following three parts:The first part is the experiment of five jointing pieces connected by the self-tapping screws. Through the support-purlin connections'research and data analysis, the first part proposed various module-effects of the connection performance, effective diameter of jointing pieces, destruct mode, shear strength and shear stiffness, and then compared with the calculated value to verify the connections formula.The second part is the experiment of the stressed skin diaphragms. The specimens are made of"kok chiⅢ"profiled sheet, where the panels are connected with peripheral frame made into three stressed skin diaphragms assemblies. By observing destruct mode of the specimen and the strain data of the connected point all around the specimen and seam of board, the stress state of connected points, the profiled sheet around of the points and the"P-Δ"curve of the stressed skin diaphragms are recorded. Then analyses are done on the effect of skin diaphragms made of general used boards and connection method. According to the results, suggestions are proposed on whether the effect of skin diaphragms is suitable to consider for the skin of the new connection.The third part is based on the combination of joining performance tests and wholly tests. Analyses and comparisons are done on the stressed skin diaphragms assemblies shear rigidity and structure distortion of the stressed skin diaphragms by using the finite element"ANSYS"software, in order to find the differences between software analysis results and experiment results.
