5.12 Wenchuan big earthquakes brought the ruinous attack to the disaster area, the socio-economic development have had a serious loss, greatly influenced the process of building a moderately prosperous society. After the earthquake relief work had ended, to resume the disaster area people's normal production and the life, to restore and strengthen the healthy development of the affluent society, it's especially important for the research of the post-disaster land reclamation and reconstruction of human settlements.As the domestic post-disaster reconstruction is still in the initial stage, the research of the post-disaster land reclamation and reconstruction of human settlements is in its infancy. Therefore, this paper focuses on the research of the post-disaster land reclamation and reconstruction of human settlements. This paper from the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, start the macro background, summarized the work of domestic and international post-disaster experiences and lessons of the land reclamation, land reclamation and human settlements of the relevant theory as the basis, study land reclamation and post-disaster reconstruction of human settlements in Chen village in Beichuan county which is in the extremely disaster area. Base on the survey of the damage land of the earthquake disaster area, carries on the analysis of the potential for reclamation of the local each kind of damage land type, which mainly include the landslide damage, debris flow damage, barrier lake (flood) damage, homestead damage, the disaster relief temporary damage and so on, simultaneously also makes the appraisal to the land reclamation's suitability. And, for land reclamation goals, standards, designs have also been certain exploration and research.In order to fully accomplish the work of the post-disaster reconstruction of human settlements in Beichuan county, Chen village. After determining the direction of the post-disaster reconstruction, had considered fully the possible influencing factors of the post-disaster reconstruction of human settlements. Then according to the scientific basis for human settlement theoretical and practical significance, creatively make the combination of the post-disaster land reclamation work and the relevant theoretical knowledge of human settlements, starting from natural, human, social, housing, support five systems of human settlement, carry on the analysis discussion about the main contents of the post-disaster reconstruction of human settlements. Then, from the land formation projects, water conservancy projects, field road projects and other projects in four areas, we discussed land reclamation on the impact of human settlements:after land reclamation, in the area, additional land area of 976.91 acres, construction and renovation of irrigation channels were 1824.26m, 21 new reservoirs, construction and renovation of various types of field road, 6840.48m. Through these projects, increase the rate of land reclamation, optimize the allocation of land resources, improve crop layout, and enhance the project area and the surrounding areas of land drainage capacity of the drought, reduce soil erosion, greatly improve the quality of local human settlements, the local human settlements construction will be truly sustainable development, provide guidance for future post-disaster land reclamation and reconstruction of human settlements.
