With power loaded increasing, users are also increasing. The traditions meter reading costs much manpower and resources. To meet up-to-date power managing, this paper is for the traditional meter reading being difficulty and the problem of power information released too late. Therefore this paper study on a based embedded ARM and LAMP (Linux+Apache+MySQL+PHP) technology for meter reading web server system.First of all the paper introduces background of AMR and developments of overseas, with the characteristics of power collected and released in our country. This paper studies on a based embedded ARM and LAMP (Linux+Apache+MySQL+PHP) technology for meter reading web server system.Meanwhile, the data is from meter to ARM by RS485 and from ARM to PC by Internet. Due to the meter reading server of system is building on Linux, software design becomes the center of this system. Linux OS is an open sources desktop OS, even though software is free, our country is in the initial stage of this field. So, when studying on this system, I must build a total new platform to fit on the meter reading server running. In many Linux OS, I choose Ubuntu by Canonical in Netherlands, with Qt, Apache, MySQL and PHP, to develop the system. To design RS485 and Internet drivers on ARM.And this paper builds a new cross compilation tool chain to re-compile the programs designed by PC, then transplanting to ARM platform. This paper doesn't use popular version of cross compilation tool chain, I build a new version of cross compilation tool chain by Linux and software version. So, this cross compilation tool chain doesn't only fit to software, but also fit to total system version. In conclusion, this paper analyzes the result of system running. This AMR system uses Internet to transfer the data, so comparison to the carrier wave wireless AMR, this system doesn't miss and fail reading. Meanwhile, the server system use Web to release the information, so users can immediately inquire about power and monitor power. In the future this system puts in use to water and gas, there are broad prospects.
