The Correlation Analysis Of Microsatellite DNA Markers For Some Production Performances In Chicken

Twenty microsatellite DNA markers were selected from poultry genome in this study. The genomes of 100 backcross F2 progeny coming from Lingnan yellow chicken A line and B line were analysed. Allele frequencies were estimated in term of band presence or absence. Polymorphism information content and heterozygosity were calculated based on allele frequencies. The correlation of markers and some production performances was discussed in the paper.The results from this study indicated that 13 microsatellite DNA markers were polymorphic in 20 microsatellite DNA markers. The number of alleles was 4-7, the average value of polymorphism information content was 0.6109 and the average value of heterozygosity was 0.6712. The correlation analysis told us that 10 microsatellite DNA markers were remarkable correlative to different production performances respectively. Then the different gene types of the same microsatellite DNA marker were compared by way of Duncan. The conclusion was as follows. BE, CE and DD type of ADL0190 were remarkable correlative to birth weight; AB and BB type of ADL0252, CC type of LEI0071, BB type of MCW0004, BD and CD type of MCW0223, AC type of MCW0245 and BD,BB,AB and BC type of MCW0341 were remarkable correlative to body weight at 8wk; AB,BB,BC type of ADL0252, BD,BC,AB and CC type of LEI0071, BB type of MCW0004, BD type of MCW0223, AC type of MCW0245, BD type of MCW0264 and BD type of MCW0341 were remarkable correlative to ratio of feed and meat; BD,CC and EE type of ADL0252, AB type of LEI0071, AC and BC type of MCW0004, AC and CC type of MCW0058, BC type of MCW0223 ,BC and CD type of MCW0245 and CC,AC and EE type of MCW0341 were remarkable correlative to egg production at 43wk; BC,BD,AC and AA type of ADL0252, ABtype of LEI0068, DE,AC and BC type of MCW0004, BB type of MCW0223 and AC and CC type of MCW0341 were remarkable correlative to feed consumption between Owk and 8wk.Nowadays poultry genome study and quantitative trait location are starting in our country. The study is a useful exploration in this area, but also will provide credible proof for the location of quantitative trait locus and marker assisted selection (MAS).
