Studies On The General Education Courses For Agricultural Major In Chinese Universities

Recently, general education has been concerned gradually by learners in the field of higher education in China.The implementation of general education depends on general education courses. Nowadays, as an educational ideal, it hasn't been understood and implemented completely in some agricultural universities. How to carry on general education effectively and reform general education courses in higher agricultural education, it is a great question of higher agricultural educators. Basing on society, specialty, teachers and students,the paper establishes general education courses system of agricultural programs.This paper consists of five chapters. Chapter one, introduces the research background, research purpose, survey of the document and clears about some of conceptions; Chapter two, casts back the educational ideology correlativing with the general education in history and introduces the theory about designing and development contrail of the general education courses system; Chapter three, take some universities overseas for example to show how to practice general education; Chapter four, find out the status quo of general education for agricultural major undergraduates by interviewing experts and students and analyzes the problems and causes lying in general education courses system; Chapter five, elaborates the necessity of general education for agricultural major undergraduates and establishes general education objectives, courses principle and structure. And finally, this paper presents some suggestions and measures about general education curriculum reforms of the agricultural program.This paper focuses on the curriculum of one subject but not all curriculum of a university, which differs from other studies. It establish general education courses system of agricultural programs.This curriculum structure is composed of three parts: basic quality, essential skills and subject characteristics.
