It is very important to study the mechanism of molecular regulation about skin follicle development, and it has a direct influence to the quantity and quality of cashmere .This experiment regards the Inner Mongolia Cashmere goats as sdudy materials. The BMP-4 and BMPR-IB cDNAs were cloned from gaot skin tissues. we acquired a part of exon sequences of the gaot BMP-4 and BMPR-IB for 306 bps and 606 bps. Sequence analysis about BMP-4 and BMPR-IB indicated that there were high homologies of nucleotide acid between goat and human or other mammalian.Tissue specific expression of the BMP-4 and BMPR-IB gene was also investigated in cashmere goat by RT-PCR analysis. The results showed that BMP-4 and BMPR-IB gene was expressed in different period of the tested skin tissues, including embryonic stage, anage, telegen and catage. So we can presume that BMP-4 and BMPR-IB gene could perform multiple functions in the regulation of skin appendage morphogenesis and the postnatal growth of hair follicles. In situ hybridization study showed that mRNA of BMPR-IB gene was expressed in epithelial cell, hair matrix, dermal papilla, inner root sheath, outer root sheath and hair shaft during the hair follicle development. Meanwhile. This result showed that BMPR-IB gene might play a role for regulating hair follicle morphogenesis, development, differentiate, programmed cell death and cyclic change.
