Study On The High-yielding Cultivation Techniques Of Fresh Maize In YongZhou, HuNan

This research has systematically analyzed the influences of different agricultural measures to the growth of glutinous sweet maize, by studying the aspects of its selection of variety, earlier seeding, methods of cultivating seedlings, translplanting and covering etc., which has integratedly assembled and developed the earlier seeding and cultivating technical system of the glutinous sweet maize, as well as provides theoretical basis for increasing the cultivation benefit and extending production of glutinous sweet maize in the process of agriculture industrial structure readjustment. (1) By choosing "Green Superman" and some other nine maize varieties as the experiment material and after the researching of the growth features and the production qualities of several kinds of fresh food varieties under the climate condition in Yongzhou City, we can find that the introduced ten sweet maize varieties raised in spring here all have good adaptability, high production, favorable characteristics and excellent quality. The study also indicates that the best choice for sweet maize planting is a variety called "Green Superman", the fresh ear yield of which comes to 13200kg/hm~2. The best variety for glutinous maize planting is No. 7 Yu glutinous maize, the yield of which can come to 11899.5kg/hm~2. Besides, the cornstalk can be processed to be silage. (2) Choosing No. 7 Yu glutinous maize as the experiment material to study the cultivation techniques and measures, such as earlier seeding, different methods of cultivating seedlings, translplanting and covering etc., the research result showes that the planting of fresh glutinous maize in early spring should be seeded on March 5th or so in Yongzhou area. Fairly high yield (12805.5kg/hm~2) can be gained, the production value of which reaches to 51222ï¿¥/hm~2, by applying seedling transplanting, covering ground film cultivation and some other promoting cultivation techniques. The commodity is about ten days earlier available on the market than those cultivated by regular method. Thus allowes to stagger the sales season and is good for improving the economic benefits.
