The variation of the total sugar, reducing sugar and related indicators of the Yunnan tobacco in different stalk positiom, different varieties, different years and different regions were studied; by cluster analysis of the sugar content of flue-cured tobacco, the discipline of other main chemical components when the sugar content of flue-cured tobacco in different level were studied; the relationship of chemical components, physical properties to sugar were also analyzed; finally, the comprehensive evaluation of flue-cured tobacco were in progress. the results were as follows:1. The analysis of variation for Yunnan tobacco sugar content based on 620 samples (B2F, C3F, X2F) 3-point scale. The results showed that: the content of total sugar and reducing sugar, the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of upper leaves in Yunnan were 23.98±4.17%, 27.87±4.72%, 7.12±2.52 and 3.90±2.37%; the total sugar and reducing sugar were higher than that of Zimbabwe tobacco, the ratio of sugar to nicotine was lower than the upper leaves of Zimbabwe, they are significant difference at 5% level; the contents of total sugar, reducing sugar, the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of middle leaves in Yunnan were 25.68±4.84%, 30.44±5.32%, 9.72±3.92 and 4.76±2.79%, the ratio of sugar to nicotine of middle leaves was Significantly lower than that of Zimbabwe flue-cured tobacco; the content of total sugar and reducing sugar, the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of the lower leaves in Yunnan were 25.23±4.72%, 29.75±5.12%, 12.47±4.44 and 4.52±2.79%, the ratio of sugar to nicotine were lower than the lower leaves of Zimbabwe, they were significant difference at 1% level.In different years, the coefficient of variation in the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of upper leaves was largest in 2005, other indicators were largest in the 2003. The content of reducing sugar of middle leaves are significant difference at 5% level in this different three years, the contents of total sugar, ratio of sugar to nicotine and the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of middle leaves are not have significant difference at 5% level. The content of sugar and related indicators in different years are not have significant difference at 5% level.In different varieties, the content of total sugar and reducing sugar of major varieties of flue-cured tobacco in Yunnan upper leaves were significant difference at 5% level. The content of reducing sugar in the middle leaves of Yunyan 85 were significantly lower than other varieties, the ratio of sugar to nicotine of yunyan 87 was significantly higher than other varieties. In terms of the total sugar, Yunyan87 was higher than K326, Yunyan 85 and NC82, the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of Yunyan87 and Honghuadajinyuan are higher than that of other species, but compared with the appropriate scope of the high side. The contents of total sugar, reducing sugar, the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar of lower leaves in different varieties had significant difference at 5% level.In different regions, the several indicators of the three parts had significant difference at 1% level. In terms of upper leaves, the content of reducing sugar in Mengzi, Yuxi, Dali and Lijiang were higher than other regions, the ratio of sugar to nicotine of flue-cure tobacco in Zhaotong and Wenshan were lower than other regions, the content of total sugar in Lijiang, Dali and Yuxi were higher than other regions. In terms of middle leaves, the content of reducing sugar in Mengzi, Yuxi were higher than other regions, the ratio of sugar to nicotine of flue-cure tobacco in Mengzi, Yuxi and Lijiang were higher than other regions, the contents of total sugar in Mengzi, Yuxi, Dali and Lijiang were higher than other regions, the margin of the total sugar to reducing sugar in Dali, Lijiang and Zhaotong were higher than other regions. In terms of lower leaves, the contents of reducing sugar in Kunming, Mengzi, Yuxi, Dali and Simao were higher than other regions, the ratio of sugar to nicotine in most areas were high and the coefficient of variation were big. The content of total sugar in Wenshan had the biggest coefficient of variation (21.03%), the coefficient of variation in other regions were small.2. On the basis of 73 tobacco samples of different genotypes from Yunnan, cluster analysis for sugar was done. The results indicated that: the tobacco leaf samples could be divided into three groups(high, middle, low), the content of total sugar and reducing sugar of tobacco leaves were significant at 5% level in different groups. The first group includes 19 genotypes, compared with other two groups, the content of total sugar and reducing sugar in this group were the highest, the content of nicotine, nitrogen, potassium and chlorine were lowest, the representative of such species was Yunyan85; The second group includes 21 genotypes, compared with the other two groups, the content of total sugar and reducing sugar in this group were In the middle, the other main chemical components were mostly in middle-level, the representative of such species were TI245 and hongda×manwuxiang; The third group includes 33 genotypes, compared with the other two groups, the content of total sugar and reducing sugar in this group were lowest, the content of nicotine, nitrogen, potassium and chlorine in this group was very high, the representative of such species were NC95 and K326.3. On the basis of 73 tobacco samples of different genotypes from Yunnan, the relationship Analysis between the content of total sugar, reducing sugar and the other main chemical components was done. The results indicated that: Reducing sugar had significant positive correlation with total sugar, total nitrogen, the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the ratio of nitrogen to nicotine; Reducing sugar had significant negative correlation with nicotine, potassium, chloride and the ratio of potassium to chlorine. total sugar had significant positive correlation with the ratio of sugar to nicotine and the ratio of nitrogen to nicotine, but the nicotine was the opposite.Canonical correlation statistics indicated that there were close relationship between the content of total sugar, reducing sugar and nicotine, potassium, the ratio of sugar to nicotine, the ratio of nitrogen to nicotine, this types of index were able to be regard as notability index of the other chemical components in the relationship analysis of chemical components to total sugar and reducing sugar.4. On the basis of 73 tobacco samples of different genotypes from Yunnan, the relationship analysis between the content of total sugar, reducing sugar and the physical property were done. The results indicated that: with the single-leaf weight increasing, the contents of total sugar and reducing sugar of tobacco leaves increased, the single-leaf weight were between 9.8g and 10.7g had the highest contents of total sugar and reducing sugar, at this time, reducing sugar and sugar were at the appropriate scope(23.5%~28.5%, 33.8~36.7%); the total sugar and reducing sugar had no significant correlation with leaves length; with the leaves width increasing, the contents of total sugar and reducing sugar of tobacco leaves increased, the leaves width were between 24.2 cm and 25.7cm had the highest contents of total sugar and reducing sugar, the regression equation between leaves width and total sugar and reducing sugar were significant. The content of total sugar, reducing sugar increased then decreased along with increase of leaf thickness. The leaf thickness were 0.058~0.061cm and 0.054~0.057cm had the highest contents of total sugar and reducing sugar, the correlation between leaf thickness and total sugar were not significantly at 5% level, but the correlation between leaf thickness and reducing sugar were not significantly at 5% level. The content of total sugar and reducing sugar increased along with leaf specific weight increasing, the correlation between leaf specific weight and total sugar were not significantly at 5% level, the regression equations of specific weight and reducing sugar reached a significant level at 5%.5. Based on 339 tobacco samples (take C3F for example ) in Yunnan tobacco-growing areas, the comprehensive of the contents of total sugar, reducing sugar, the ratio of sugar to nicotine were evaluated. The results indicated that: the availability of flue-cured tobacco in different years was not significant, it means that the stability of flue-cured tobacco in different year was very good. The usability of middle leaf in different aeras were evaluated, the results indicated that usability index in zhaotong was highest (0.861), followed by the Wenshan (0.676), the difference between the areas reached a significant level at 1%. The usability of middle leaf in different variety were evaluated the results indicated that usability index of Hongda was highes(t0.815)and Yunyan87 was lowes(t0.362), performance for the Hongda> Yunyan 85> K326> NC82> Yunyan 87, the difference of usability between the varieties were significant at 1%.
