Based on the comprehensive investigations in Tianbaoyan nature reserve during April,2007 and September,2008, the species and distribution of wild medicinal plants resources were basically maken clear, and the resources of wild medicinal plants were analyzed and evaluated detailedly. The research results would provided a rich resources information for the protection of the wild medicinal species resources and development of medicinal industry. The results were asfollows:1. There were 176 families, 530 genera and 830 species of wild medicinal plants in Tianbaoyan nature reserve, including 11 families, 13 genera ,14 species of Bryophyte, 32 families, 47 genera, 71 species of Pteridophyte, 6 families, 8 genera, 8 species of Gymnosperm, and 127 families, 462 genera, 737 species of Angiosperm.2. Analysis on the flora of Pteridophyte and Spermatophyte showed that the tropical distribution composition (131 families, 74.44%; 270 genera, 52.22%) took more percentage than the temperate distribution composition (36 families, 21.56%; 123 genera, 23.79%) . were the main This flora was composited by tropical distribution composition with some of transition composition.3. The wild medicinal species used by herb and rhizome were the main phytogroup taking the percentage of 48.3 and 34.7 respectively.4. There were 94 families, 181 genera, 213 species of wild medicinal plants with cold property, 91 families, 146 genera, 187 species of that with cool property, 76 families, 155 genera, 198 species of that with warm property, 76 families, 166 genera, 240 species of that with neutral property, and 2 families, 3 genera, 3 species of that with hot property.5. There were 44 families, 71 genera, 89 species of wild medicinal plants with sweet flavor, 84 families, 158 genera, 186 species of that with bitter flavor, 54 families, 86 genera, 110 species of that with acrid flavor, 11 families, 12 genera, 12 species of that with sour flavor, 4 families, 4 genera, 5 species of that with salty flavor, and 22 families, 26 genera, 27 species of that with neutral flavor. The other of wild medicinal plants tasted like more than 2 kinds of flavor.6. There were 63 families,104 genera, 136 species of wild poisonous medicinal plants in Tianbaoyan nature reserve. 4 families, 4 genera and 4 species of them had strong toxicity. 43 families, 58 genera and 70 species of them had moderate toxicity. 38 families, 53 genera and 62 species of them had mild toxicity.7. The medicinal resources of Compositae was very rich(42 genera, 69 species) with a variety of medicinal function.8. Method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied to evaluate the medicinal properties of wild medicinal plants. Some plants were worth to be utilized, such as Sarcandra glabra, Taxus chinensis, Paris polyphylla, Huperzia serrata, Polygonatum filipes, Arisaema erubescens. Trichosanthes rosthornii, Anoectochilus roxburghii, Dysosma versipellis, Lonicera japonica, etc. 9. Quantitative evaluation of the rare and endangered medicinal plants showed that some of them needed urgent protection, such as Coptis chinensis var.brevisepala, Dysosma versipellis, Drosera peltata var. lunata, Bretschneidera sinensis, Pinellia ternata, Anoectochilus roxburghii, Botrychium ternatum, Epimedium sagittatum, Cibotium barometz,etc.10. The newly distributed species of wild medicinal plants were 9 families, 10 genera and 10 species, such as Huperzia crispata, Botrychium ternatum, Dysosma versipellis, Melampyrum roseum, Emilia prenanthoidea, Oreocharis benthamii, Siphonostegia chinensis, Phyllagathis caualeriei, Elaeagnus glabra, Taxillus caloreas.11. Medicinal function and usage of 22 species of Chinese herbs and 25 kinds of folk prescriptions were collected in the proccess of the research of ethnopharmacology. The resources of wild medicinal plants in Tianbaoyan nature reserve were very rich. It was very important to collect and evaluate the resources in time for the protection and utilization of them.
