An toxicity testing explore the safety of Chinese herbal medicine ,then through the breeding test to study the effects of Chinese herbal medicine on broiler performance, intestine structure and the integrity of intestinal mucosa in broilers. The acute toxicological experiments showed that ,the LD50 of Chinese herbal medicine was greater than 20g/kg weight, and it was safe and reliable. The breeding test selection 240one-day-old Rose308 broliers were randomly assigned into 6 groups with 4 replications .Groupâ… was the control that was provided basal diet; Groupâ…¡was the antibiotics (ciprofloxacin 0.25g/kg),Groupâ…¢toVI were added 0.5%,1.0%,1.5%,2.0% of Chinese herbal medicine respectively. The experiment perid were 42 days. The result indicate:(1)The Chinese herbal medicine could promoted the growth and improved the production performance of broilers. Under the experimental conditions, in the 22~42d the best ADG and F/G was gotten when the addition of Chinese herbal medicines were 1.0% and 1.5%, compared with the control groups the ADG increased were 7.67%(P<0.05) and 6.45%(P<0.05) ,the F/G drop were 8.48%(P<0.05) and 15.25%(P<0.05).(2) The Chinese herbal medicine could improved the slaughtering performance of broilers.when the Chinese herbal medicine additive dose was 1.5%, the slaughter ratio and half thorax ratio significantly increased compared with the control group at the age of 21d.;when the additive dose were 1.0%and 1.5%,the whole thorax ratio significantly increased at the age of 42d.(3) The Chinese herbal medicine could decrease the pH of intestinal and promoted balance of intestinal micro-ecological in broilers. when the additive dose was 1.5%could decrease the pH of duodenum, jejunum and ileum differentially;1.5% addition significantly inhibited the growth of E.Coli, but stimulated the growth of Lactobacilli and Bacillus bifidus of cecal compared with the control group at the age of 42d.(4) Chinese herbal medicine could improved the morphology of intestinal and protected the integrity of intestinal mucosa. Under the experimental conditions, 1.0% and 1.5% of the added group was significantly improved the duodenum and jejunum villus height and V / C at the age of 21d and 42d;1.5% addition was significantly reduced the duodenum and jejunum crypt depth ;1.5% addition could make the duodenal intestinal villus epithelial structural integrity, hierarchy clear, intestinal mucosa striated border microvilli closely arranged, the size of uniform, structure clear at the age of 42d.(5) Chinese herbal medicine could improved the apparent digestibility of nutrient substance. Under the experimental conditions,the1.5% experiment group was the best apparent digestibility and the index of CP, EE Ca, and P was increased by 8.81% (P<0.05) ,1.15%(P>0.05) ,13.82%(P<0.05) and 8.58%(P<0.05) than the control group at the age of 21d,that was increased by 7.21% (P<0.05) ,0.36%(P>0.05) ,5.49%(P<0.05) and 5.54%(P<0.05) at the age of 42d.These results indicated: addition of Chinese herbal medicine could improved intestinal structure , protect the integrity of the intestinal mucosa ,maintenanced and promoted balance of intestinal micro-ecological and improved the nutrients substance apparent digestibility of diet, so as to enhance the production performance and promoted the health production of broiler. The addition proportion was better between 1.0%~1.5% .
