| The establishment of forage germplasm resource database in Qinghai Province through the utilization of software MapObjects of Geographic Information System (GIS), programming language Microsoft Visual Basic.NET2.0 and ACCESS databases is depicted. The database aimed to achieve search, management and report print of forage germplasm data. It comprises two parts:the forage germplasm resource database which is for the date search, information indication, report generation and print of forage germplasm, and the spatial database which is for the search of geographic information of forage germplasm .For the last 30 years'research , Qinghai academy of animal and veterinary sciences as an crucial scientific research department of Qinghai, have spread Avena sativa L.CV.QinyinNO.1and Avena sativa L.CV.QinyinNO.2 and more than 20 varieties of oats, and selected Elymus sibiricus Linn.,Poa crymophila,Festuca.sinensis and more than 20 varieties of forage grasses。Some of the varieties become the main plant varieties of Qinghai and Tibet plateau,and play an important role in intension production of livestock farming and force building of forage ecological. Now, we collect more than 6000 materials of germplasm resources, the value of the date is great, but most of the date do not normalization and standard, single of represent. This can not carry out Fast tips of germplasm resource dates and can not satisfied request of effective to make preparation, fast reaction, and so on. In Qinghai Province, there is no Forage germplasm resources date base, so we need a special management system to storage and integrate dates, to look up and manage dates, to copy and backup dates, and to treat disaster of dates.As computer technology goes quickly, GIS have new altered. In the future, GIS will grew to the way that of date standard , date dimensions, systems integration, systems intelligentization, platform international and utilization socialization.Experimental studies have shown based on Microsoft Office Access2003, programming language Microsoft Visual Basic.
