0bject i ve: To observe the effects of Carthams tinctorius F Q 2 (SY F Q 2 ) onthe experimental myocardial ischemia model and investigate its mechanism.Methods: Part one Acute myocardial ischemia (AMI) was induced by acuteobstrUct of left anerior descending coronary artery 30 healthy hybrid dogs wererandomly divided into contro1,Salvia miltiorrhizae (SM0.8g. kg-' iv), SY FQ 2(5mg. kg-'), SY F Q 2 (l0mg. kg'), SY F Q 2 (40mg. kg') grouP. The changes ofHR. STffe. ST-T period in ECG wee taken down befOre ligation and post-treatffiellt of SY F Q 2 (5min, l5min, 30min, lh, 2h, 3h, 4h) respectively All piecesof myocardia was dipped into the liqllid of Nitroblue tetrazolium peBT),Totalheart weight (TW), risk zone weigh (RZW), infarct zone weigh (IZW) andIZW/TW were weight respectivelyPart two AMI model were induced by isoproterenol (l0mg. kg-' ). Thechanges of indexes on hemodynaxnics in rats were observed, such as MBP, LVSP,LVEDP and idPMax. After this experiment, the content of MDA and theactivity of SOD in the plosma and myocardial tissues were measured.ResuIts: (l) The heart rate of SY FQ 2 (5mg. kg-') grouP was slown downsignificantly (P<0.005),but there were no significant variation in SY F a 2 (20mg, 40mg ?kg"1) group.(2) The elevation of ST-T period induced by AMI was inhabited remarkably in SY F a 2 (5mg, 20mg ?kg"1) and SM(0.8g ?kg"1) groups (PO.05 or P<0.01), and the variation of ST-T period had changed notably in SY F a 2 (5mg *kg"') and SM(0.8g 'kg'1) group. Compared with control group, RZW/TW and IZW/TW can declined significantly (PO.01 or P<0.05).(3)SY F a 2 (20mg ?kg"1) can improve rats hemodynaics. Compared with control group, the content of MDA and the activity of SOD in the myocordium were decreased in SY F a 2 (20mg,40mg ?kg"') groups (PO.05 or PO.01).Conclusion: SY F a 2 can decrease HR significantly and improve the index of hemodynamics and decline the risk zone, and their mechanism may be partly related to oxygen free radicals directly or indirectly.
