Objective:To detect the expression of a novel inhibitor gene of apoptosis survivin, the inhibitor cancer gene PTEN and p53 in gastric cancer and their relationship with clinicopathological features. MethodsrThe expression of survivin, PTEN, p53 gene was determined by immunohistochcmistry SABC method in 65 specimens of gastric cancer, 26 of atypical hyperplasia of gastric mucosa, 10 of superficial gastritis, 30 of normal gastric mucoma. Results: The positive rates of expression of survivin, PTEN, mutant type p53 gene were 70%, 48%, 65% in gastric cancer; 42%, 85%, 31% in atypical hyperplasia of gastric mucosa;survivin, mutant type p53 gene had no expression in gastric mucosa and superficial gastritis , PTEN gene had the expression in all specimens of gastric mucosa and superficial gastritis;the differences are significant respectively ( P<0. 05) .The positive rates of mutant type p53 increased with clinical stage, the poor differentitation , deep invasion and lymph nodes metastasis and organs invasion ( P< 0.05) .while for PTEN , the positive rates decreased remarkably ( P<0.05 ) .The expression of survivin gene was positively correlated with the expression of mutant type p53,the expressionof PTEN gene was inversely correlated with the expression of mutant type p53, The expression of surviving gene was positively correlated with the expression of PTEN gene. Coriclusion:The abnormal expression of survivin, PTEN, p53 gene in gastric cancer may have certain effects on tumorgenesis and development of gastric cancer;the expression of PTEN and p53 gene in gastric cancer was correlates with clinical stage , tumor differentiation, this may act as markers predicting biological behaviors of gastric cancer;the coexpression of survivin, PTEN, p53 gene has the synergism in gastric cacer.PostgraduateWang dongsheng (General Surgery)Directed byProf.Zhou Yanbing...
