Objective To study the expression of Clusterin(CLU) and its relationship with expression of aspartate-specific cysteine proteases 3 (Caspase-3) and P-glycoprotein(P-gp) in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods The expression of CLU, Caspase-3 and P-gp in 41 cases with HCC, 10 cases with cirrhosis and 10 cases with normal tissue of liver were detected by immunohistochemical technique (streptavidin-biotin complex, SABC and streptavidin-biotin peroxidase method, S-P).Results1. The staining of CLU was mainly located in the cytoplasma. The expressions of CLU in HCC was 82.93% (34/41) ,and negative or weak was detected in cirrhosis and normal tissue of liver. There were significant difference in HCC, cirrhosis and normal tissue of liver (P<0.05). In the group of cirrhosis, the expression was significant lower than that in the tumor group (P<0.017). In the group of normal tissue of liver, the expression was significant lower than that in the tumor group (P<0.017).The positive expression of CLU was significantly correlated with Edmondson's grade (P<0.05), but was no signifcant correlation with patients 'age, sex, AFP, serum HBsAg, cirrhosis, tumor growth pattern, tumor size and portal vein thrombi (P>0.05).2. The staining of Caspase-3 was mainly located in cytoplasma. The expressions of Caspase-3 in normal tissue of liver, cirrhosis and tumor were 80.00% (8/10), 70.00% (7/10) and 34.15% (14/41), respectively. There were significant difference in HCC,cirrhosis and normal tissue of liver (P<0.05). No significant difference was seen between HCC and normal tissue of liver, and no significant difference was seen...
