Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott, a deciduous perennial herb in dryopteris family of dryopteris genus, grows in sloping land with stones of high cold area and forest, or in the cracks of magma near the volcano, chiefly distributes in Wu-da-lian-chi of Heilongjiang province, in the Bai-ka-shou mountain of Ta-he town in Heilongjiang, in alpine region of Da-bai Mountain, specially in the north area of Xiao-xing-an-ling mountain. The Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott which grows in Wu-da-lian-chi has the strongest activity, which may relate to the special geographical environments of the area. According to the folk remedy of north Chinese, the Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott can treat all kinds of skin diseases and arthritis, such as psoriasis, rash, dermatitis, athlete's foot, dry skin and etc; they have obvious curative effects for psoriasis and arthritis. The inhabitant in northern Heilongjiang regards the Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott as an unbeatable rival to skin diseases, painting water suspension of boiled dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott to affected parts of skin for treatmen. The Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott is mainly a folk medicine for disease but its curative effect is distinct and its application is extensive. So, recently this plant aroused interest in more and more domestic and overseas scholars and they make an intensive study of this plant. In recent year, scholars in our laboratory made the research into the active components and pharmacological effects of the Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. At last 30% EtOH part is ascertained principal active components in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and is separated into chemical constituents in study of chemical component. Through look up a lot of documents we found the research instudy of chemical component is rare. In order to made a deep studyand development of this abundant medicinal resources we made anintensive study of chemical component of the Dryopterisfragrans(L.) schott on the basis of the past research. The study carries out the systematical reseach of the chemical constituent from Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott and summarizes the chemical constituent. At first, dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott water extracts was eluted with water and ethyl alcohol in three different concentration (30%, 60%, 95%) in macroporous resin. Secondly, we have studies 30%EtOH part on chemical constituents by modern technology and methods such as silica gel, ODS, and HPLC . Finally, 7 compounds have been isolated and the chemical structures of 5 compounds were fully determined by 1D and 2D NMR such as 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, 1H-1HCOSY, DEPT, HSQC and HMBC etc, combined with ESI-MS and HR-ESI-MS and chemical methods. The compounds are 1 sesquiterpenoids,1 lignans,1 flavonoids and 2 phenylpropanods, which contain 1 new compound wa separated from the Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott for the first time and the compound named fragranoside J. Their chemical structures are 15-hydroxy-albicanol-11-O-β-D-glucopyranoside,(+)-pinoresinol-4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside,dihydrokaempferol-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside,trans-S-trans-p-hydroxy cinamicacid-9-β-D-xylpyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester,trans-S-cis-p -hydroxy cinamicacid-9-β-D-xylpyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopyran osyl ester respectively. The study add the contents of chemical constituents of Dryopteris fragrans(L.) schott and accumulate experience on all sides. So it provide important grounds in research of chemical constituent and scientific foundation in elaboration of pharmacolo gical effects. This study play an active and promotive role in the development of new drugs.
