Child mycoplasma pneumonia is a clinically common disease. In recent years, the incidence of mycoplasma pneumonia in children tends to increase. The clinical medicine treatment is the macrolide antibiotics, but the medicine has the gastrointestinal symptoms and occasionally, cause liver damage. By reviewing a great quantity of Traditional Chinese Medicine literatures on the pathogenesis and treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia, this research comes to the conclusion that the main pathogenesis of child mycoplasma pneumonia is pathogenic heat blocking lung and blood stasis obstructing the lung network vessels. And Qing fei, expectorant and activating blood stasis is a effective therapeutic method in this stage. In the clinical study, sixty patients with mycoplasma pneumonia were divided into two groups. The 30 patients in control group were still treated by the azithromycin for injection (ze qi), or in combination with other modern medicines which to relieve symptoms. Meanwhile, beside the modern medicine, the 30 patients in the treatment group needed to receive the decoctions of TCM which were prescribed under the therapeutic principle:method of clearing heat, expectorant and activating blood stasis. The observation time of two groups was both 10 days. And the differences between two groups were calculated by the improvement of the scores of symptoms and signs, X-ray examination. At the end of the treatment, the numbers of the cases that were cured, significant effective, improved and ineffective cases in the treatment group were 15 (50.0%),13 (43.3%),2(6.7%),0 (0%). Those in the controlled group were 3(10.0%),10(33.3%),17(56.7%),0(0%).With rank sum test, It showed that Z=-4.408,P<0.01,the treatment group was better than the control group. The cure rate of the treatment group was 93.3% and the control groups' was 43.3%, the differences between the two groups in a high degree of statistical significance, P< 0.01,the treatment group is superior to the control group in improvement of body cough sputum, lung auscultation. The differences between the two groups in shortness of body temperature, breath and chest X-ray is not significant. In the improvement of complextion, both two groups were effective, but the treatment group was superior. Therefore,we considered that the method of Qing fei, expectorant and activating blood stasis was effective in the patients with child mycoplasma pneumonia. Compared to the control group which used the azithromycin for injection (ze qi) only, the method of Qing fei, expectorant and activating blood stasis was more effective in relieving the cough, resolving the phlegm and so on.and it is worth clinical promotion.
